Presentation
III ANPAD Marketing Meeting
Curitiba / PR May 14 to 16, 2008
The III EMA attests to the consolidation, advancement, and fertility of the studies in Marketing in Brazil. EMA 2008 gives an opportunity for the academic community in this area to be able to publish and debate articles more specifically in their field. The presentation formats should favor a deeper debate into the papers and a greater interaction among the participants. In order to capture and reflect the development of the Marketing studies, the papers should be presented in four areas of interest and prepared and sent as such.
The EMA 2008 is an event of the Marketing Studies Division at ANPAD.
The city where EMA 2008 will be held is Curitiba.
The papers submitted will be evaluated using a blind review system in two stages based on a single submission. In the first stage, the expanded summaries will be evaluated of the complete works submitted. The summaries approved during this phase will have their papers completely evaluated in the second stage. During each stage, two teachers of renowned technical-scientific competence in the area of marketing studies in Brazil will evaluate each paper.
The papers will be submitted in 2 formats: • Sessions of Competitive Papers, which include papers that represent complete researches. The organizers will accept these papers in sessions that reflect similar academic interests. • Special Subject Sessions, which promote the opportunity to focus attention on relevant topics, in their state of art, integrating researchers and stimulating the development of research communities. Sessions of this nature offer a perspective in substantial aspects of the theory and/or methodology of the subjects treated.
The decision about the format of submission is up to the author at the time of its submission.
Submission of Special Subject Sessions: Subject sessions are dedicated to the exploration of subjects of special interest. The submission of a special subject session is indicated when groups of authors consider that their papers form a cohesive set among themselves, but that are difficult to fit into traditional or interactive sessions. The submission of special subject sessions should be in name of two researchers from different institutions. One special session should be made up of three to five papers that should be presented in a total of 90 minutes. The submission of the subject session should include not only the papers that are a part of it, but also a text of up to 300 words that presents the problems that will be put to discussion. Subject sessions will be judged separately from the competitive paper, which means that they will be approved or rejected as a whole. The papers submitted to subject sessions will not be considered for presentations in sessions for competitive papers. Works submitted in subject sessions cannot be submitted at the same time for presentation in competitive paper sessions. The submission of the subject session should include a discussion leader, which is considered an expert in the area and does not need to be an author of one of the three to five papers included in the session to which he/she is indicated. A time should be included for this leader to make his/her considerations on the subject and the papers, as well as for discussion with the audience of the session. The presentation format will be up to the group of presenters to decide and should follow the time proposed for the session.
